Welcome to the McCharen Family Home Page! That's us up there and if that's not enough to scare you away then stick around and see what's happening with the McCharen's down here in Jacksonville, Florida.

My name's Kevin (I'm the ugly one in the front left) and I am an I&C Tech (don't ask) at SJRPP, a coal-fired power plant here in Jacksonville. My wife (and bestess friend) Hope and I have been married for 20 years and we have been blessed with 3 beautiful and talented kids. We also have several 4-legged kids Abby, Sister, Gamera and Maverick . Abby and Sister live in the backyard and Gamera and Maverick  get to live indoors.

So, why a Web page? Probably for the same reason everyone else has one. Duhhhhh ..... lesseee, uhhh, I have NO IDEA! Hey it's available and its a fun way for me to boast about the accomplishments of my kids and play around with graphics and art work that I enjoy. Entertainment is the key word here. I enjoy doing this and hopefully you will enjoy the product. I've accumulated 26 megs of web space on 3 servers so I've got tons of space to play with.

I've got some ideas about what this site will contain but it will be a while before it really takes shape. I want to use it to let the rest of my far flung family know hat is going on in our busy household. If you want to see this for yourself check out "The McCharen Family Newsletter". Ever get one of those annoying Christmas Newsletters where the person assumes you want to know every excruciating detail about their family (....Uncle Joe got his parole from the big house last month, Billy Bob and Betty Sue are .....), well you get the picture. At least this way I can save the postage. Another page will be a collection of "My Favorite Links" These are a collection of the places that I frequent on the Internet. My bookmark file is huge, but these are just a few of my favs so if you are new to the internet these may get you started. "The Jaguar Page" is a collection of links about the Jags as well as a place to display Jaguar pictures, stats and stories. This page has quickly become my main emphasis, taking up the major part of my time and gets the lion share of hits on this web. The last page is "Funstuff" page. This is just a place for me to display the graphics and cartoons and other things that I'm playing around with. Check over at the top left of the page for more stuff that I may add from time to time.

So that's what I 'm about. I don't expect a lot of visitors but you are more than welcome and I would appreciate your input.

That's me over to the right. El Progenitor, Boppy, The Bopster, Kev, Melvin. Scary Huh? Ok, I know what you're thinking, how in the hell did I wind up with such beautiful kids? It's a question that I often wonder myself and have absolutely no answer for. My wife swears that I am the father of all 3 so I guess I'll just have to say that sometimes the winds of fate blow kindly. I was born in Oklahoma City but pretty much grew up in Tulsa with a short stay in Kansas City. Moved to Nashville when I was 16 and that's where I met my wife. I've been an I&C Tech for about 15 years and messing around with computers for the last 12 both on the job and at home. We've been in Jax for 12 1/2 years. My basic philosophy in life is "don't take it or yourself too seriously" It's served me pretty well over the past 41 years. Click on my picture (promise I won't bite) and you'll go to my page to find out my innermost thoughts. On second thought ......

hopey.jpg (5731 bytes) Here's my best friend, Hopey. She's from Connecticut and I'm from Oklahoma and we've been friends for 21 years and married for 20. When we were first married we had a poster with two bulldogs and the caption "My Friend Is Not Perfect, Nor Am I, We Suit Each Other Admirably". That kind of sums up our relationship. It helps a lot that we both have pretty warped senses of humor and we don't take life to serious.Hope is an Assistant at Lake Forest Elementary and takes care of their computer labs there. Her main job is bus driver to our 3 kids (70,000 miles in 3 years.) Click on Hopey's Picture and you'll go to her page.

Here's our eldest Hannah (the banana) . Hannah is involved in dance and drama and is a junior at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts (DASOTA). Hannah is beautiful and talented, a hard worker and a huge help around the house. She shares her mom and dad's warped sense of humor. Loves Monty Python, X-Files,Simpsons. Click on Hannah's pic to go to her page. hannah01.JPG (20562 bytes)

Rnj22.JPG (11553 bytes) Here's Jenny (Wren) our middle child, shown here as Juliette in JCA's Romeo and Juliette.   Jenny is a frosh at DASOTA and is a drama major there. She's beautiful (duh) and talented (of course) with a wacky sense of humor (Monty Python fan?...you betcha). Anyway, Jenny's a real treasure and we expect great things from her in the future. Click on Jenny's pic to go to her page.

Here's Andy (Pandy), our youngest. Like his sisters he is smart and talented and (unlike his sisters) 100% boy. At the moment he is planning to be a NASCAR driver AND the kicker for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Might be a conflict there since races and games are both on Sundays. Also has a warped sense of humor but no one quite understands it. Click on Andy's pic to go to his page. andy01.jpg (25326 bytes)

Here's a couple of our 4-Legged Kids:
